Sorry if I came off as a bit rude, bad thread titles are a bit of a pet peeve. If you do a search you might find the other thread about making custom primitives, IIRC there's a plugin or a script that lets you do this easily.
I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by "weld the edges". Is there a mel script or something that does that, because I see no tool like that in Maya 2011. Frankly, this bridge tool is a pain in the ass, unlike Modo's which just works.
I'd love it to have all kinds of infos, from a place where everyone can upload tutorials they've made, which will hopefully be nicely categorized, to write ups on pros and cons of various 3d programs to explanations of tecniques, to links to helpful scripts.
I'm pretty sure it rebuilds the vert table every time, even with the guruware obj export plug-in that was rolled into 2010. Morphix will reorder the verts from one mesh to match another as long as they are identical. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/morphix
might want to try scripts! =) Scriptspot is gonna become your best friend if you re switching from maya to max. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/pivot-by-2-vertex Select vertices, press key and tadam, pivot aligned to those.
Snader: thx but i already unwrap it Vailias: thx, i would have never decipher it without ur help. cuz i never learn expressions in wire parameter or max script. my school didnt really prepare us enough.
Hey Poop, could you post your most commonly used 3dsmax scripts and UI setup (hotkeys, ui config, etc) also most common brushes in PS? or you may have already done this? Thanks, great tuts btw.
they are on giant monkey / dinosaur island so sure i can believe theres giant monkey / dinosaurs in it! but uless they wrote a part in th script where teh girl mentions casualy "oh i'm imune to heights" then she should go splat!
Ged, that is awesome! Snowfly, there are scripts around for Max that automate the camera setup, try scriptspot. A few more favs. Glad you guys dig em as much as I do. Villa Borghese in Rome A roman doorknocker Outside the Borghese museum Fireplace
I never tried irfanView because I always thought that the logo and interface were butt-ugly (Russian programmers art at its best) but lots of casual people I know liked it in the past, it also seems to come with lots of scripts and support of such.
