I love how the top screenshot looks like the regular UDK we all got used to, with that one specific artefact showing up so often ... and then your results make it look like a solid modern graphics engine from the future :D Cool stuff!
This is a limitation of the current cage system (we plan to investigate improvements here in the future), when you have geometry at very steep angles like this sometimes the cage verts do not push out. A quick fix is generally to bevel that edge so the angle isn't so harsh.
Man you are a great font os inspiration! I love these old school non normal mapped models. And it's great to see such beautiful work, so nicely done. thanks for posting, both the model and the info about the process. I hope to achieve such level of quality in the future.
Got it now. Seriously this is so cheap you guys shouls have a donate page or something. I really have no idea whats covered but in the free tutorial id love to see some coverage on FumeFX and how to bake out fire and smoke and such. Maybe something for the future?
I was just billed successfully a minute ago (so automatic retries might be working, maybe they just happen after a longer period, like a few days or a week?). Thanks for the help, I'll direct questions to that e-mail address if any similar problems arise in the future!
Well of course, but you could always just retopologize your sculpt after you block out the main forms in Zbrush :) Plus the creator of Sculptris now works with Pixologic, so we can probably expect to see some sort of dynamic tessellation in a future release
Thanks, Snader. You're totally right and it's something I'll have to pay more attention too in future. It's a shame though, that it seems no one was actually interested enough to find out what callipygian means and I spent so much time looking for a prefect word.:D
Hmm, odd, I will take a look into this when I get a chance. though everything has rendered out well in Marmoset Toolbag 2 but I did use an FBX instead. Definitely worth checking out the OBJ, and worth noting if I come across this in the future.
We want to thank you all for the interest and the overwhelming response that we've received! The initial position we advertised for has now been narrowed down to a few applicants but we are always looking for awesome candidates for future positions/projects so don't hesitate to get in touch! :)
I moved your thread from 3D Showcase into Animation Showcase. There tend to be more animators in here, so this is a good place. I also fixed your Youtubes. For future ref, we have some info about embedding in the Info sticky at the top of General Discussion.
