yes and yes. i tried xoliul shader, it works fine with xoliul... i guess it must be the nitrous viewport shader. but why specifically in this one? i ve done other bakes with no problem... and baking in outside programs like xnormal produced some similar errors, so i am led to believe it's max's fault (no surprise there) -

Unfortunately, there really isn't very much available on the topic of shaders in 3ds Max. Almost everything is in that thread that Eric posted. I had to learn most of what I know by trial and error and by sending emails directly to Autodesk. The example shaders that ship with Max also help, but overall it's kinda… -

Have you updated video divers lately? I doubt that would do it. I don't think I've ever had that error come up. Maybe try creating a new scene and doing what you wanted to do with a cube. It could be something with the shaders or the geometry. I've had to export as an Obj and reimport on occasion. -

CS4 is much slower and sluggish than its predecessor CS3 on windows XP, however a odd thing I found is that in Windows 7 it acts more faster. It's probably all down to the OS I think. (Btw, I never found any lagging or slowdowns/errors in CS3). Where have you been? :D -

Hmnn, did you get a timmed out error (there are three clients on it now, but some have timed out) by any chance, or was the server just not available, i may have the wrong port as i just copied what the server posted in the log as i couldnt browse servers and have a server running at the same time? tpe -

I dont think it´s a problem with hard edge being forced but probably with the normalmap (try flipping the green channel from the xnormal render) or possibly a smoothing error either when rendering (set xnormal lowpoly to render using averaged normals). Dubble check your exported smoothing groups in max so they are all one. -

Looking good Vass. I really like the carpet texture and the table texture. I think like Scooby is saying though the lighting could have more contrast. Good stuff though man! Hey Squirmy, thanks for your comments. Yeah, the portfolio cropping was intentional, although those other things that you mentioned I don't see happening. I tested the site in Firefox, IE and Opera and there's no bottom scrollbar unless the window is too narrow, but I'll try other browsers and see if I can reproduce the… -

I get those warning popups all the time even on adobe sites, Fact is the reason you see those is because the developer of that swf file is a really bad coder. Usually it's about null object references or some wrong assigned events. But yeah switch to the regular player to not see that error popping up all the time -

I did a little paint over. Noodled around too much, maybe to the point where its not even helpful. I'm not the greatest with characters. There's definitely some errors in my method as well but, hope it helps in someway. Perhaps someone with more experience will come put me to shame. :)…
