At the end of the day, the most important skill will be your ability to accurately re-create the male reproductive system. If you were hiring for a character artist position, would you turn down a portfolio filled with perfect dick anatomy?
I got the tree down to about 8k with the root system and 7k without. Here is an update of all the current assets in place. Got one or two more trees to go then on to props like boat, barrels, sticks ect.
Thanks for the answers guys. It seems like we're going with trees at around 15k tris for LOD0, 10k for LOD1 and 5k for LOD2. Then Billboards. The LOD system in SpeedTree was something I missed! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
Yea I'm not hard and fast about the 3 year rule, I just don't buy the latest thing to plop off the assembly line. I think we covered that in the "check out my new system" thread.
Just bear in mind with the toolbag setup, Unreal deals with this system (PBR) in a rather different way. Still similar but it treats metals and non metals VERY differently where as marmoset is more of a sliding scale from dielectric to conductor.
I think there's alot of false expectations for the next gen systems. I really wish games wouldn't push to be so realistic in art design. I'm more excited about the graphics in DOA4 then most of the other games showcased.
Yes, yes he can. Monkey radar system, spots and points out targets! Got time to work on this again this week, so hopefully i'll get more of the dragon done and post up my progress soon!
this is very intense and epic! :D i dont know if im just a noob at this still but is there a life system in this? Where you have 3 lives/chances to continue if you die within the game? if not that'd be a nice idea :D
This looks amazing! Do you have any resources/links to how to make that spline system? The function I'm after is that it adds a new mesh when you change direction of the pipes. Is it made in Houdini or just a UE4 blueprint?
Yeah! I never understood the plot... Absolutely loved the combat system though. It seems that FFXIII was such a HUGE step backwards in terms of gameplay... Yet the graphics were mindblowingly good. Why can't they get it right any more? :(
