On top of what EQ said Knald is an awesome way to save time baking AO maps. Granted you still have to create a proper normal map like the ways EQ posted, but Knald can give you a 4096 AO map using 8000 plus rays in less than a a few minutes. It saves a ton of time when working and easy to adjust on the fly as you need.…
As far as your work goes, don't use CrazyBump for your AO or Specular maps. Use big boy tools like Photoshop adjustment layers to get the job done for your specular map, and bake your AO off of actual geometry. You'll get much, much better looking results that way. Eventually get a new desktop for power usage and modern games at high settings but waiting on USB 3.0 and Sata 3 to be…
The concept seems pretty intriguing so far, kind of reminds me a bit about Resident Evil in that it's "daylight" but actually underground. It'll be interesting to see what props/furniture you develop and how it'll fit into the rough looking stone/concrete. It'll be great to see a nice shot of what the core looks like and…
The poly's on the pagoda (i thought that was the name for a house/building? maybe this too?) are insanely higher than they need to be, you could eliminate tons of them and cut about 2k tir's at the least, I can do a paintover if you need it but it would take a while due to the amount that could be eliminated. As for ref…
