Good stuff, its coming along nicely! To tie into the slave, painful ear pinching goggle aspect of things, you might want to force the edges of the goggles to dig into his face and pull the flesh out around it like the goggles have been there so long it is almost accepted as an extended body part. Kind of like when tree…
Ok now I am confused. Conor, I thought you achieved what you wanted to? Or no? The alpha sorting is crappy with many layers. With a scene like this its fine. Mayas roots are in film. Not much cause for the use of tons of alpha there. Maya has alot of catching up to do for functionality geared toward games, its a relatively…
Development Second Piece (Speedtree) My second Project is the integration of Speedtree into my workflow. Using the software to produce the bulk of my foliage and just getting used to the industry standard Software altogether. Planning: My research regarding the scene began with getting to know the region i am designing the…
Hey man! Cool WIP! Just in respone to what you said you want to change. Yeah squating him Y trans a little and lengthening his gait is gonna help a lot. Amping up the Y trans wont really add weight, you definately want to amp it up but contrast in your spacing as he translates down is whats going to give him that weight.…
Hmmm...so many...i'll try to remember as many as I can: *Slipknot (2x indoor, 2x festival)...awesome stage show *Slayer (1x indoor, 1x festival)...one of the bests pits ever *Megadeth 2x ...you just missed out Bronco...these guys played the other day and were awesome *Lamb Of God ...Great live band, and really great guys…
So there is a pretty big difference between a skinned and non-skinned mesh. So your test cube will need to be skinned to a joint in order for your testing to function. If it's a non skinned object, it will use the scene pivot as the objects pivot. Usually you have to move the object to the scene origin, export and then…
@Tits Thank you always! @Ged Thanks man! @griffiti Thanks for the feedback! I see what you mean, that is a good idea, it is a bit abrupt in that section. Still a bit of tweaking to do, but considering this material will be 85% hidden by the ground tiles, I am calling this one done. I thought this would help add to the…
Your hard surface detail like the headpiece and wings need to be separate pieces of geometry. The soft edges you get in your plane changes makes it look more like a resin cast than a mechanism. Speaking of plane changes all your edges are really soft, get some bevels in there. Are you doing this completely in zBrush or…
Hey man! Looks really nice! ;) There are just some minor things which could be improved in my opinion.. I think the concrete staircases could use some wear and tear (they look very clean and new atm). Another thing is, that the trees look a bit "lonely" right now.. something like roots coming out the concrete near them…
I think it's compositionally pretty sound. the patches of sky on the right and left top corners could use to be messed with, though. I think the stone blocks on are looking a little soft -and the seam between top and side planes is glaringly obvious. Overall the scene could use more hard edges, it all feels too soft for a…
