I bought my current desk from them. This is it: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/758756/Realspace-Zillope-Computer-Desk-57-78/ It looks spacious, but I've had to make some mods to get my monitors on there. Plus, like I said, my chair doesn't fit underneath the keyboard tray, and that's even with tearing the drawer out…
Wow Blazier, that's very pessimistic. Might as well give up on everyone because you've had a few bad experiences, and tell others to give up as well. Polycount is a seriously great community and many, many artists have improved based on the crits and advice here. I'm one of them. I came over from CGtalk where you…
Oniram : Seems like you've got a lot of unneeded edges, and its hellishly messy which could make UV mapping harder than it needs to be. Also your poly distribution is bad, you've got a cap on the side near the front thats got a lot of edges whilst there is other areas closer to the butt that look quite lowpoly. Also avoid…
Your view of "exploiting" is unbiased, like almost all your views in several discussions i've read from you. 1st, because these retailers i pointed you are from the UE, they are legit. But you seem not to understand that there are cheaper choices to buy games instead of steam, so you end like an ignorant. With your last…
I've learned a lot about pricing assets and in the future, I would price all of my assets much higher. Something I would normally sell for $20, I would now set the price to $40. Why? I made 16 asset packages for the Unity asset store. I intentionally made some of them...uh...crap. I was experimenting with min-maxing my…
500 makes you a captain in my book.. so congrats dude, nice to have your inputs around here! I really like your work so far, and think you will become very good at this. It's all about having WILL power. To finish stuff. My outside input is a quick polishing... The spec maps seem a lot uniform to my eyes... and with the…
Hey dude, I can answer some of this for ya! 1) Good for both. More environment art jobs but A LOT of talent makes it an employers market. Not as many tech art (both general, environment, and character) but with a lot less talent looking for those jobs if you're a decent tech artist you have a better shot. 2)Loved it…
Sounded like a really passionate guy, can't help but admire that. Denied being the parent of his first daughter, raised on welfare in her early life by the mother. He was already a millionaire. Put up for adoption, raised by an uneducated mother and father of very meager means. Lucky to get a good family. They were middle…
Here are the stats from the compiled shaders (I suppose that also includes Unity's PBR shading ? Not sure how to isolate that) Terrain blending : // Stats for Vertex shader: Simple contact blending (Between an object's material and another single material) : // Stats for Vertex shader: Advanced contact blending (Between an…
The road wheels really seem to be eating up an excessive number of polygons. I'd leave the top of the cylinders as solid, with the normal map supplying the more complex geometry. Depending on the final scene, you can probably limit them to cylinders with 8 or at most 12 sides, rather than the 20 you are currently using.…
