I think thats more to do with the dev than the graphical quality don't you? Mass Effect 2 was stunning and lasted 30-40 odd hours. Uncharted 2, in the same genre, lasted twice as long as Underworld, but had roughly the same dev time.
assuming it would be done with a dot product, "camera world position" node, and "world position" node, and useing that to drive a lerp with 2 constant 2's for your fully tessellated and un-tessellated values into the tessellation factor of the material. that would get a basic one going.
Try multiplying the texture by 28, then add 2 to the result. You can then plug that result into the SpecularPower slot. That should give you a range from 2-30. I've found this helpful with familiarizing yourself with the what each node does: http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/MaterialsCompendium.html
SC2 was the best of the series. SC4 was pretty good, an improvement over 3, but still not as good as 2. 4 had some glitches and gameplay issues. I've heard that 5 might be a return to form. We still break out and play 2 from time to time.
I am unsure of geo control 2 as the free trail version is broken, it wont let me try it. People on poly count seem to be able to tell when something wss done in geo control 2 and I don't know if that is a good or bad thing.
Just started book 2 in the Honor Harrington series. First one was pretty good, and there looks to be many more. [ame="https://www.amazon.com/The-Honor-Queen-Harrington/dp/0743435729"]Amazon.com: The Honor of the Queen (Honor Harrington #2) (9780743435727): David Weber: Books[/ame]
Open the script window. In a Mel tab type the 2 lines below. source "location of Mel file/ninja_uv.mel"; ninja_uv(); Make sure the path is correct. Example: source "c:/tools/ninja_uv.mel"; You can then hilite the 2 lines and drag it to a shelf to create a button
You want to make sure that you are using power of 2 textures also (512,1024,2048 etc.) as the sizes you are using are quite odd. The size of you texture in the "Guten Morgan" scene is slightly smaller that the equivalent power of 2 size, which is 4096x2048 Hope that helps :)
Fully depends on how you are. You can stay at one company and get a significant raise (>10% raise) but there will 2 factors that are at play. 1: How dependant is the company on you. 2: Do you dare to put your ass on the line and demand a high raise.
