This looks nice. So how does this blender development work. Do I have to vote for this feature? Also it seems to be not thought through yet. The wires are colored, which is nice but the verts need it more desperately. However, this is done in the C core of Blender? This would obviously be nicer but so long I'll use the…
Is there any good solution to retopology within blender without paying $80 for Blendercookies toolset? I tried Retopo MT and I can't stand it. The only alternative I can see is to use Blender's projection snapping with standard modeling tools and shrinkwrap, which is incredibly slow. For $80 I may as well just buy topogun.
Hallelujah! So I went the manual way and looked in my temporary directory which is where my blend files are saved. I don't know if it's a case of using a zip Blender package or what not. I believe the built in Blender recovery function uses the temporary file directory in its recovery. Nonetheless thanks for the prompt…
There is supposed to be a new default keymap currently in the works, but I don't know the status of it. Its aim is to be a lot more reasonable than the current keymap, which Blender outgrew a long time ago. I doubt it'll be a magic bullet for everyone, but I think it will turn a lot less people away when trying Blender.
So if you want to update to your blender settings from 2.63 to 2.64 just do this: Copy this folder: C: \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.63a Empty then paste into this folder (create if it doesn't exist): C: \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.64 @Dave, It's totally worth…
That's probably the reason why the idea of working in Max gives me nightmares. When you put it that way...Blender is competing, inadvertantly, at least at the tools level. But that sort of begs the question...why does Blender have to change to conform to Max/Maya? Beyond certain caveats (vertex normals, cage baking) what…
I agree with that. You won't become a master in Blender within a cozy afternoon. It takes some time. And more time than migrate from, let's say Max to Maya, because of the different workflow. The thing you described with Blender Artists is something I've also seen some times. The issue with BA is, that it has some really…
Honestly, I tried the Pie menus for a whole month and I couldn't find any benefits over my hotkey workflow. Quite the contrary. They slowed me down eventually. So I don't see what the fuzz is about them. But whatever floats your boat. Maybe it's for people who have a hard time to get used to a hotkey centric workflow…
