With mesh fusion, the clean UI I could quite seriously see modo as the future and leaving autodesk in the dust, right now some aspects are still playing catch up, but its getting there, i'd suggest picking up the basics now while you can.
In the future you don't need to tell an online community your age :P The internet is anonymous, and if you make good art here, or ask good questions and put in the time and effort to learn and take advice, it doesn't matter how old you are :) With that said, welcome!
Amazing stuff Tim, loved the grenade tutorial and with Maya as my primary software the tutorial was still very easy to follow and I learnt a lot from it. Bought the AKM as soon as it was available. Great work and I hope to see more tutorials from you in the future.
lol dod_smg_weapon_inner_workings.jpg yeah my only quibble is that i know dfacto can crank some way more interesting designs, but for the brief of doing some real nice modular pieces for the unity asset store? these are perfect, exactly as near-future-tech-generic as they ought to be.
the belt thing is hanging pretty low, looks like it impedes movement. Waist also looks a tad slim. also for future reference, get sculptris if you can't use mudbox/zbrush. You can bang out some pretty nice organic sculpts in it.
Best thing they've done, although it shouldn't have been on Steam in the first place. Plenty of other awesome games that can't get on Steam and this shit manages to hit the Top Sellers. Hopefully Valve will actually test future games before they actually go on the store.
I will be buying a few tutorials in the very near future, but does the Unemployed Artist discount apply to students as well? If so i know there is a student discount, would this merge into some super unemployed student discount? (since i am both unemployed and a college student)
The link still works, and it's still view-able on the website. So I'm going with a 'Yes, still available'. Otherwise they would say something like 'Submit CV for future opening ' on their site; like they do with Game Design category. So, go go :P Apply.
There have already been topics about this One of the AO systems that's very popular around here is Faogen. It's pretty damn flexible and fast. I think Jogshy is expanding some of the AO options in future xNormal releases, but that's not until after the new year. Hope that helps
Wait, yeah, I was thinking of Halo 2, not Quake 4. Quake 4 had some nice level panoramas up though. I hope they do more 3d screenshots in future, it gives a much better sense of the game (and also more difficult to fake!).
