If you're any good at coding you could make the site scalable depending on the browser window size. If not, it's a good idea to see what percentage of users use what screen res and strike a balance from that.
Site isn't loading for me, tested in chrome & firefox, but it just is stuck on a white screen/loading forever. The images in these thread (wich seem to be hosted on your site) are working fine, so not sure what is going on.
To add to what imbueFX said, it really depends on how big and how many particles there are on the screen. You could make a choice between having a lot of simple particles, or having a few more complicated ones.
I beat it co-op over a few days (split-screen on one system), never had any save problems...it does have a checkpoint system, just need to be mindful not to quit in the middle of something...
I like orange on grey but that orange just seems to fluro to me and the walls look a little more blue then grey so it feels off. Can you get a closer screen grab like above ?
It wasn't the processor that made me hate netbooks, its the tiny screen and keyboard. 3d would be a nightmare on one. Netbooks are more for someone who needs more than a smartphone, but not a whole full blown laptop.

Dynamic lighting and hand-painted shadows aren't something I'd imeadiately put together, but the screens look pretty damned good, (i can't install flash on my work comp) can't wait for the prototype :)
