Maybe try setting Ref Coord System = Constant in the Preferences. http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-86205F0D-6143-432A-B0D4-5CCC4DB2699F.htm,topicNumber=d30e584897
I woke up this morning and decided I needed to change the thruster design and knew what i wanted to do. Here is the final texture, for now at least. Making the parking system with animation for the main machine now.
Hey bud. Good stuff! I'd like it a bit if you maybe paused the vid and did a little pop-up video style notations w/ arrows pointing to the specific particle systems and effects you created.
Are you using the new grid system (where you can change the fill mode ) or the old image plane plugin (which should have an opacity slider, although on 4r4 I think it is missing some options)
I'm not a max user but I believe this is related to the fact you have still modifiers enabled on your object and that you need to flatten them down first before exporting. Otherwise the export system will triangulate the mesh.
check your parenting, then check the value you entered in the expression systems. I'm pretty sure it's something really obvious you neglected to double check because you thought it was too obvious that it couldnt be that issue... BUT IT IS :P
Friend showed me this vid of a plugin some time ago. Maybe it could be useful for what you need. It's not free though. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VNMOS557W8"]Cloud System Demos - YouTube[/ame]
It looks like you're using the "local" coordinate system. That will give you odd results when selecting multiple faces like on a cylinder. Try switching back to "World" or another mode that will give you better results.
I think the brain reacts much like any immune-system, after so many explosive transformer and resident evil movies you start rejecting anything remotely similar ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duck_test
High system requirements, poor documentation, nonexistent developer community, financial instability, getting your hands on the engine was an exercise in futility for a really long time. I don't have high hopes for Amazons offshoot, Lumberyard.
