Today's exercise is to add my Son of Santo styled character to a IC6 world. I'm experimenting with foliage, foreground lens elements (as I tend to stage my work in the middle), overhead Softbox arrays and learning to assign a walk to a Path. 800 frame animation switched between two cameras. Assigned a Dummy or Nul object…
Ok... it's softer now... Thanks for the crits. I tweaked the animation too... I think it's more natural now. http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/8008/saquec1.mp4 As before... crits wanted ;)
To bring this thread up-to-date, I've finished the Guard tower asset. The latest images are here: http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb134/EvilViking13/CryEngine/Lab%20X16/guardtower1/ And now the new stuff: Lab X2: Time of Day Test 1 Hey folks, I've managed to get a bit of work done on my map's TOD. I'm working on…
i like your sci-fi architecture :) Reminds me somehow of 80ies -early 90ies sci-fi... I guess u need to place some pillars under the large done (referring to 3rd image, with pillars' hall), otherwise it is kinda hanging in the empty. Also probably u'll need to break the monotonous metal texture for large metal objects like…
I have got the M11x Alienware notebook, which cost around £800. From owning it I wouldn't say that it's ridiculously priced as it's an amazing laptop. It's running 3ds max with a 16 million triangle model pretty smooth. I would recommend it, and recommend just save up for one.
Sorry if I missed it, what kbps (kilo bits per second) are you compressing to? This has the largest impact on visual quality, across all codecs. Too low, and it's a blurry mess. Too high, and it becomes a giant file that won't play smoothly on slower computers. 1500 kbps is generally OK for 800x600 or so.
Uniform subdivision adds tons of geo to the models in opposite to edge loops where you're adding more geo to near edges only by adding edge loops. My PC has a weak heart not being able to handle too much polycount when it comes to models bigger and more complex than a cube. I bought TurboSmooth Pro as well but same issue,…
No you should not have issues with weapon in story mode. Do a quick test if you are so concerned about it. If you want to merge just animation only import the animation, discard everything else http://help.autodesk.com/view/MOBPRO/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-097F1B7F-05F6-442B-80E6-338765965691
lol... A bit desperate for crit then. Bumping like mad. Polycounts sometimes a little slow to get back. But crit will come dont worry. Heres some. 1. Firstly. You should show more than one angle. Side and a 3 quarter view at least. Its easier for people to see faults. 2. The topology flow isnt to bad tbh. So no crits there…
Yes I have tried meshes around 1 to 2 million polys and Max would crash on me every 5 to 10 minutes and my computer would crash every half hour. The model wouldn't even open on the school computers it would crash before it could start. All in all a huge pain in the ass. When I get it up to the 700k to 800k polys it starts…
