Chet from Valve had an excellent talk on this very topic that I saw linked the other day. I don't have it on me but the basic message boiled down to, "Make something". Whatever you have in terms of computer power and tools is fine - make something. It's by having finished stuff to show that you can get a job. -

Now let's hope for 8gb of RAM or more. The only reason I haven't bought a tablet yet is because they're all either lacking in power or use an Ntrig digitizer. My only real option right now is the discontinued Fujitsu T902 which is a bit clumsy on the design side but I've heard good things. -

Best movie out in the past 10 years, If it was done with a regular director, the ending would have seemed unrealistic and gratuitous, and the steps leading up to it would have seemed cheesy and unnecessarily complex. I think the handle is too thin. Also, where do you put your other hand to steady it? Just underneath? Usually there's an underside grip as well. The color scheme is ok, not sure if paint would hold up in combat situations. JKMakowka - 1000 polys is fine for weapon models, if the power exists it should be used. -

I didn't know if all the foreign moon people would know what a weed wacker is, but I used a gas powered weed wacker to mow it. Yes I was always ready to pick it up and weed wack their faces should they have gotten up, but in the end, I think it was the noise of the pesky machine that kept them at bay.
