Heh, you're welcome :) Scriptspot is a great place ( the best ? ) to find 3ds Max scripts and plugins, most of them for free. I think it should have its place in Wiki.
There's a good Photoshop script I learned about that can stretch your edge selection to create padding. http://www.flamingpear.com/download.html It's in the Free Plugins - It's a Filter called Solidify B
Anyway, doesn't know how to solve this problem but I found a great script which works fine for fixing the orientation: [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OASGbZ2WlEQ[/ame]
By any chance does Unwrap now have a Grow Selection option, a la Edit Poly? I had to script a toolbar shortcut for that one in Max 7, and it is very useful.
Maya, Zbrush, Max, Topogun, in order of frequency of use. I usually only jump into Max to use some of its tools or scripts which I don't have in Maya.:)
I make sure ingame and sources are separate. I setup pipeline scripts to export textures/assets in one click. (see my sig) This helps keep things clean ...
Sorry Strg(Steuerung) is the german meaning of Ctrl(Control), my bad :) For the shrinkwrap feature, you could try Wrapit or the max retopo script(which is free, but not as awesome as wrapit).
Probably doesn't help you much to know this, but there were some pretty cool tutorials on the DVD version of the game. They cover modeling in Max and Maya, and how to script/code for the game.
