hey tulk, how does it work? are some of the games emulated in browser? what about more robust games like farcry, deus ex 2, etc...does it download gigs at a time or stream the info in blocks? how does it handle file saves and such?
Seems you already have some understanding game dev. You could post some of your work over in P&P and then people could critique your work and get an idea of your skill level and maybe offer some better advice.
It seems it's still alive. There is a 'New site and trailer coming soon' message on the dev site that was put up earlier this month. But the silence over the game is a bit iffy. - http://www.tarsier.se/metronome/ After Banjo Kazooie it's the game I'm looking forward too the most.
awesome website, you have some really great environments. I like the NBA street & Def Jam levels, because you showed them in wireframe too, so I could see how you created an illusion of the world around the player.
RIP GRIN. You had been my favourite dev for a while and had the coolest guys I know~ I really wonder what's gonna happen to their engine. It seems quite impressive, I just hope some other studio continues developing on it.
good story unique non-cliche characters paid DLC which offers more than 10 minutes worth of gameplay free content patches (e.g. LotRO) console/PC ports where the devs properly adjusted the controls for the respective target platform
Sounds like you've got the makings of a great Technical Director. Having someone on a dev team that knows the artistic side and the technical side of 3D is a great asset. If you have any specific questions once you get into it more, let us know.
I'm assuming it's part of the Nintendo DS dev tool kit? I don't know how homebrewers deal with it. There's someone here on the forums that's working on a DS game - has flying aircraft and whatnot. Pretty swanky stuff. Can't remember his name though...
Did you pick up this Gauss? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...ks&n=507846 Really damn nice book with lots of stunning Art in it. Theres also pics of all the actors they hired for ref. Including Alyx. It's pretty interesting.
I'm at a similar point in life; similar age, similar career path, including getting into game dev in the later stages. I definitely got burnt out in my enviro/prop artist role. Felt like depression, and there was a period where I was able to push through it by reminding myself of all the people who would kill to have a job…
