In that Battlefield Heroes you can see at 12-13 seconds where it swaps the rotor model for a blurred texture on a plane. I think a simple blurred texuter plane would be fine for most uses.

considering that for just a 12 inch you could blow your 1k, i htink your better off spending part of it on a intuos, which should olny hit you between 400 to 600
Have you been to the Euro Pastry House in Yaletown? I don't know why they call it that, it's all sandwiches, but they're so good, and pretty fast if you show up anytime that's not 12-1.

The polycount is a bit over 15 million polygons on the Late Tiger, the Early Tiger is in the 11-12 million range; the 'red dirt' effect was achieved in Photoshop by adjusting the hue/saturation of the original rendered image.
zbrush 12 will incorporate real clay which you have to shovel in to your cd slot:) TBH zbrush is already cool apart from the weird perspective, but that not really a huge issue for me anyway
