This was possibly my first "completed" model I did... I think in 2004? I didn't know what the hell I was doing or how to really use the program. I'm pretty sure this was made in the free version of milkshape 3D. Look at dem skillz.
Ryan is currently working on it and i have not seen a date, but will def. add it to the queue once i find out how to get a nice copy printed. :) and once I find out how, or figure out for myself how i will let this thread know.
Definitely will have some influence from Jensen in Deus Ex, but suspect I'll steer away from significant modifications (like his arms), keeping the implants/mods more subtle. Of course, he's got a bit of a Gordon Freeman thing going for him...
that teaser trailer is torture. I wanna see it AALLLL... I don't wanna wait til the 22nd dec to see it :( Yeah, I'm pretty much 100% hyped up for this after adoring the first game. Certainly a good era for Bioware right now.
Smoothing groups dear boy! Make sure that each uv island is its own smoothing group. Your model looks faceted on the low poly, which is why it's looking so strange. See the other normal map thread a few threads down.
Looks really solid! The candles are far too intense and I agree with Minos about the rim light. It would def help to separate the shapes from the neutral background. It would be cool to see a version with the saturation increased I think. Awesome work overall!
Yeah, that should be very cheap to render :) I made a first post in our dev-blog btw, maybe someone is interested: http://robo-minion.com/coming-up-with-puzzles/ It's on how we come up with the puzzles, but I guess the title gave it away.
Vailias since the majority of us (2d dev's) we are not familiar with 3D , can you provide some toutorial how we can see our skins in that way. Thank you in advance along with cheat mod that will be our salvation for our spending time!
Thanks Evil! Yeah i should def focus more on that. I have a 1:72 miniature which is D with a turret (last ref). Although I still wish to add those cool vent-like things behind the wings on the first ref.
I'd like this to be posted at the door of every game dev school in Ontario. The situation here is by far the worst I've seen in a developed country. The strangest part is that a lot of juniors here actually think that kind of work is good for them, like the inevitable carrot on a stick.
