Are you using actual maya SubDs or using the smooth preview option? "Edit Mesh>Crease Tool" will work with smooth preview but if you're using real SubDs you'll need to use the tools in the "Subdiv Surfaces" menu. I'd suggest using the smooth preview (1,2 or 3 on your keyboard.)
Def needs more different colored parts. The elbow disc/joint could be a different color. Knee pads maybe. Gray discs on the chest (the gray ones) could change the base to be a different color as well. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/131/c/b/Marine_Poses_by_SgtHK.jpg
I went ahead and pitched in $130 for this campaign. I don't currently have an Android-based device for testing software, and this sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I threw in the extra $30 because I want two controllers. I've always loved local multiplayer, and wanted to develop for that.

MAX offers $123 or so monthly subscription. Anyway I'd say go with Blender. When you get hired into 3DS MAX based studio, you should be able to recall all your MAX muscle memory in a week.
i'm halfway there with the hairstyle, kept some fibermesh where possible. it's about 13k triangles right now plus the rather unreal specific splines. aiming for 20k when finished. also a test for screen to gif. very nifty app:
PS. When making that new video I found the problem of the Default Material Path using the default model path... I had missed it since I usually make them match. Anyway... there is a version 1.2 up that fixes that.
Another update! Enemy #2: A Terror Turnip. Managed to get it down to 134 triangles, which I think is pretty good for something round :) So far I'm enjoying low poly and low detail hand painting, goes quick, which is great for One Game A Month projects :D
The problem with the solution above is that if you want to edit the model later on its going to be really difficult. We are having a discussion about this in the modeling shapes thread. Basically read what Perna has posted on the last 4-5 pages. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56014&page=133
Wowie Zowie! Instant feedback!! You're a sneaky one with the "Almost Chinese new year but not really- haha got you" tactic :p I like it. I definitely like 1,2, and 6 the most. 6 just feels like a super 3, so I had to roll deep haha.
