Worst example of relying on cgi to sell a movie: watching superman crash through hundreds of fucking buildings for 30 minutes in the man of steel. Swear to god he did more damage than Zod in that one.
I think it is whatever the current polycount get the number of quads and multiply by 4*Level, and tris are multiplied by 3*Level, then add the result of each. I think that is it. Do the math with an example item and see if it works.
Take the time that you spent on each piece out of your portfolio. That's probably more of a turnoff to employers. For example, it sounds like it took you over 3 years to finish your simple Lagoon scene?
Rotate and bring the jaw back, bring the top lip out slightly, adjust the tip of nose down slightly. Here's a quick example on the right. Hope it helps~~~~ Keep it up, hope to see updates and improvements :)
The addition of other pieces of furniture covered by dusty blankets for example could work either through the doorway in the background or even in the foreground to help tighten up the composition. This latest shot is working really well now.
If you only have 1 light (sunlight for example) There is no need for RNM. But if you have lots of light RNM is a best choice. As far as i know no other render engine support RNM (Only turtle).
Sorry for the confusion. I mean like an X-ray view where the mesh is translucent. So for example, the ability to make the live/reference mesh x-ray, but keep the retopo mesh opaque, or vice versa.
This is what masking is for. In your example you would mask everything except for the eye (it might be faster to mask just the eye and then invert the mask). http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/3d-modeling/modeling-basics/masking/
I guess your Team Fortress 2 characters and particularly environments are the obvious example. Forms are typically large and simple and texture detail is often little more than a few well placed brush strokes.
I will post some later today. yeah i tell you what would be even better, if zremesher could merge geometry and turn it in to something with a nice flow:) like for example a vest on top of a torso
