yup. not worth the money. We just got lots of Quadros at the studio because Dell keeps selling those precision workstations with them. In game dev practice there's no real difference you'll notice with the latest drivers.
What the fuck?! No. Just no. You don't solve problems with modular assets by making them NOT MODULAR ASSETS. The "fix" you're suggesting is lazy, inefficient and bad practice. Doing something like that should be a last resort.
Man it wasnt long ago that I was amazed at 1440p on a 27 inch, now it's old hat and I'm on 5k (that said im running it at 4k for practicality). Actually it wasnt that long ago that 1280x1024 was amazing either :/
Okay, now I'm done! This was a lot of fun and I look forward to learning more about 3D in the future! I plan to practice some more over the summer. Thanks for keeping up with my progress!
+1. There are all kinds of things to practice sculpting, but at this point its more like going against the software's strengths just because. Remember the "art" is the goal, which software you use is only a means to getting there.
Remember there's other engines. And really, if you just want to practice 3d modeling and texturing for now, you could just stick with marmoset, has pretty much everything the majority of the game engines provide out there.
Possibly. I have not tried to add pre pass to my searches so far, but from your link I found this paper that I haven't seen before: http://blog.selfshadow.com/publications/practical-visibility/
Oh, i think i have missed something here. I thought gloss was practically the same as roughness. As i use CryEngine, there is no specific roughness slow. Does anyone know how to use it in the engine??
I've made a few updates over the past few weeks. A couple new models were made after doing some other practice runs with some smaller projects. Further crits/comments are appreciated.
Practice model. Still trying to get the good enough workflow when modeling. Trying to get better with hard surface modeling and texturing as well. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3. Any feedback or comments are appreciated.
