If your worried about pushing forward with 3D because the AI might be able to do your job better than you can....well you don't have many options. Pretty much anything done with a computer is out of the question, so you'd be largely stuck with physical labor jobs. Even then, they're just safer for now but that will change… -

I don't think Zbrush's Zremesher or Decimation Master will be so great for LODs (mostly because of UV issues and such), but they are worth testing out. Simplygon is a powerful professional solution. Not sure how expensive it is but it gives some fairly good results and has lots of options to preserve various aspects of… -

Nice share! I would personally trow a cylinder projection to those middle polygons tho. I'm sure it will help many, cheers! UV'ing can look complex, but it's very simple, it's just very time consuming. I also want to mention the power and useful ness of the stitch and the unfold mapping! -

@alytlebird oh very good points! you have got me thinking now :) I think it would be really cool to take it in a direction that it is an "ancient"/ relic that was used to kill a very powerful demon but in the final moments the weapon was broken and part of the demon fell onto the rifle and grew into what it is now -

I was really skeptic at first, I thought that this one was going to be a generic Mario title, and standard affair story. = However this title seems be quite interesting indeed, and has some cool elements. Sure it doesn't have the WOW factor of galaxy, but still I was intrigued by the power ups, and amazed by the graphics. -

Hm didnt play UT for ages but for the map you need good layout, put some top down shoots were are the weapons shields and power ups, I know when creating map good layout comes first then envorment. i did some maps for Q3,Q2 but not for UT -

OK...so i got a bit carried away with modeling tonight, i really did not like the center area of the bot, but im going for a futuristic service hatch where the power core of the assault bot can just be removed, let me know what you guys think :D -
Re: Maya Renderman vs Maya Vray.
Renderman is very involved. It not really a preset type of renderer, it will convert hypershade graphs to slim but the real power is in writing your own shaders, and the fact that it can render huge scenes. Also, try 3Delight like Jedi suggested, you can get a single user license for free and it is renderman compliant. -

You may have to pay custom charges on that don't forget. Also to anyone else looking to expand their collection of anatomy books, please ensure you have read the ones you own first...or at least rub them on your head to see if any of their magical power comes off :P.
