no worries mate, reading imagine fx for a few years taught me so much about composition and colour theory even if i never actually picked up a wacom and did any painting, so always good to pass it on!
Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'll toss Softimage's XSI into the mix I believe it's Valve's go to animation software, and it sure is a thing of BEAUTY! A few other local TV & FX houses around town use it as well.
I agree. People tend to focus on visuals more than sound, and when it comes to sound, focus more on music than sound fx/foley. Yet, kickass foley sound is definitely kickass, and can make a big impact.
Wow top quality. I googled your studio and the animation and fx work look cool! http://www.prismart.productions/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=51&Itemid=147 You guys have a studio outside of India?
That did it, thank you for your help :) Just in case anyone with the same problem finds this thread: The 3 point shader thing mentioned here is this: http://www.3pointstudios.com/3pointshader_lite.shtml The .fx file I had to edit was 3ps-standard.fx.
Generally each camera cut will be its own scene/maya file. They`ll be rendered out, per camera cut, as they are finished with FX and such. So animate everything, then render. dont render each frame as you do it. that would be rediculous
I made this with Mass FX. I like it, but the simulations I got out of Reactor seemed more predictable and reliable, especially the Biped ragdoll. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY6NYD6Ru44"]Town Center Destruction - YouTube[/ame]
Thanks renderhjs. We're using FX Composer right now to check our exports. Materials and morphs don't show up there, but it's enough for what we need. We're on a short time schedule, so no time to develop custom tools.
Very sleek looking weaps. And as Jeff said, the textures look a bit drab, although they do look great in-game, with all the flashy FX. I went to vote for it on Greenlight, and guess what, I already have it favourited, hah.
most common suggestion is to study traditional art and learn 3d on your own. vfs are apparently good and they do one year courses, but they're in canada and they do fill up fast, earliest you could start there would be in october
