Future Googlers: The answer was to MAKE SURE your models/mesh groups have the EXACT same name as in Suite (see top of the toolbar in Suite to see what the name(s) are. If you don't, the textures won't be applied to the mesh(es). In my case, I had updated my model, but because of my fiddling in Max, the names got changed.
are you trying to use snaps? If so press "S" or check on the toolbar...it's an icon with a 3 and a magnet. You can right-click it to change it to whatever you want it to snap to. Edit: I have nothing to compare it too, so for the most part I'm ok with it...although sometimes I just can't for the fucking life of me get it…
I'll be honest, if it wasn't for @PeterK comment, i probably wouldn't have even clicked the artstation link, i would have just moved on. I'm not a fan of posting a teaser image on a forum and going "more over here pls". That's not what forums are for, that's what twitter or facebook are for. That said, because of Peter…
Hi, the softwares that you should learn depends on your ultimate goal, you said that you want to make money but you didn't say how ( freelance ? asset store ? classical full time job ? etc. ) so i'll give you a general overview to start out. First of all the most important thing is to define your specialization, you said…
I would find a real picture (not a render) of the knife you are working on, or as close to it as possible, and try to replicate it. That is the best way to start tuning materials and mesh details. You have too many factors right now working against you to get an accurate shading model. I say temporarily ditch any sort of…
If you have Max 2015 or newer you can use the "Select and Place" tool on the main toolbar to place objects on another mesh. For older versions of Max there's the Advanced Painter script, but I'm not sure if that works in any Max versions after 2012, so you might have to find something else if you're running Max 2013 or…
The problem I think you're having is that Ctrl+W also is set to a global max hotkey for Zoom Region Mode. You can either remove it from Zoom Region Mode or turn on Keyboard Shortcut Override which will override the global shortcuts with the sub-menu shortcuts. Its the button in the toolbar that looks like a up arrow key.
Which "Quixel" are you referring to? NDO, DDO, the SUITE toolbar? Quixel is our company, not our software. :) In any case, this is likely due to SUITE 2.2 not being compatible with Photoshop 2017 yet. We've got a pre-release patch that you can grab here. You'll need to join our Live Support group if you're not already a…
Hey there, The symmetry plane can now be deactivated (the button just next to the symmetry switch button in the toolbar). Moving the symmetry plane is on our list indeed. No floating sliders at the moment but you can modify flow and size through Ctrl+Click + Horizontal drag (right click for size, left click for flow).…
Heey girls, iam looking for a glowmap-way in maya. The model is handpainted and has only a diffuse map + AO shader. The object is prerendered in mental ray - so i only need a rendering solution ;) /btw. why is marmoset toolsbag in 1.06 only making the glow white but not shine ?
