Rendering the wireframes as isoline will let you keep the smoothing at 2 and have recognizable topology. I also feel the scale on the cracked dirt/concrete is too large, making the cars all look like miniatures. I would love to see all five versions of the cars in a lineup, or something that's not a distant render with…
Hero Forge uses Shapeways to print, so if you look at reviews of them, you can get a very good idea of what 28 mm minis printed through Shapeways are gonna be like. Here's one review: http://ragingowlbear.blogspot.com/2015/02/hero-forge-miniatures-not-ready-for.html. (that's from before they added the new material, though).
well, there were rumors that we would get the original unedited footage on the bluray release. It's a shame that he's replaced alot of spectacular miniature FX shots, they were held up in film & fx schools for over 30 years as great work that withstood the test of time, the shoddy 3d replacements already look dated;…
This low poly - low res skins are just amazing. Its so intrigueing how such little size and amount can look so great. I love seeing your models, and for some reason, i consider your stuff to bea sort of miniature figurine model XOD. Really great stuff...make more! i want more!
This looks nice, but some of the post-processing is a little heavy for my tastes. Specifically the DoF in the first shot makes it hard to focus on and possibly look like a miniature, and the contrast on the wall in the second shot seems pretty blown out, though I don't know if that's in the texture or not. I think if it…
the roof is cool but the wall and especially the floor seems out of scale to me and making the hangar look kinda miniature. I suggest you go for more subtle large scale detail. right now it looks like micro or medium detail blown up to very large proportions. otherwise, keep it up. looks like it can be a cool scene!
Looking great! One thing that bugs me, the scrolling speed is very fast for the scale of the scene. It looks more like a fast-running river. The speed could change to 1/2 or 1/3. Also perhaps the scale of the wave pattern could be smaller, to match the scale of the docks and people. It kind of makes the scene look like a…
other pics, from different angles. tried to get rid of the miniature feeling, you guys tell me if its still on... the wash of light i figured it as nice to leave it on, what do you guys say? open to any crits, and still trying to figure anything to use as a focus point... paintovers would be appreciated if possible…
I'm definitely digging this. One thing I'd check -- either your camera or your lighting is making it look like these are miniatures. (It's usually camera settings.) Also, your windows don't need to go right out to the corner on every building, especially not on residential ones. I'm excited to see where you go with this.…
Texelion, these are all looking great!! Yea, I've been toying around with the idea of Patreon as well. I've been doing freelance Miniature sculpts and want to do my own thing. I just haven't figured out what rewards to offer and then the whole Fan Art issue...although Sakimichan seems to be doing just fine, lol.
