personally i'd remove baked lighting from everything and use the slots available in toolbag, but that's me :P http://seblagarde.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/dontnod-specular-and-glossiness-chart/ This is a really good resource for physically based values to use in your reflectance/specular.
^^^ agreed. I'm a stickler for quality meat. There's probably only about 30% meat in that mess. @Justin_Meisse: Pork is the King of Meat imo. Pork Chops would be 6th on my list. I'll have to try the recipe out though. It could elavate it up the charts.
Does Modo handle high polygon counts well? Max can handle 10th of millions of polygons easily. There was a chart somewhere that showed comparative viewport performance for high poly scenes. I believe max was best, but I can't remember Modo's performance.
Damn, this is looking great! Can you tell me, where do you get your PBR valuse for albedo/reflectivity, etc ? Im trying to approach into PBR, and Im looking for global chart of PBR values. Where did you get yours ?
Just discovered this, and it's the closest thing I've seen to my favorite art style for a really long time, the character design is off the charts and the execution spot on. Amazing, I'm completely in love! Will definitely be following this thread, so far my favorite is Mozu and Aisling.
If you ever want to feel really cynical, look into how the military does these calculations. Those little cost/benefit charts dont decide who gets a pink slip, they decide who lives and who dies. The moral of the story is 'always be mission essential'.
Yeah ZacD is right, that's how I used the color chart seen in that post. Here's the terrain shader network, that some of you asked, it may be full of uneeded nodes since I iterated a lot on it from start to finish but here it is: Big ass image beware !
x-posting the Unity PBR charts I made a while back, which have just made their way into the wild. Hopefully they're helpful to someone! Link to high-res png and pdf versions here: https://oc.unity3d.com/public.php?service=files&t=dfc9aa1491ff905f589408aa136eab23
I find his advice on gear second to none, and while I dont always agree with everything he has to say, his reviews are always very realistic, instead of comparing MTF charts and theoretical sharpness or whatever crap that has no real impact on photography.
