There should be 3ds Max/Maya keymaps bundled with Blender that you can choose off the splash page or by going into User Preferences -> Input and picking them from the drop-down menu. Almost all Blender tutorials are geared towards the default keymap though, so you'll probably still struggle finding things.
Hi Guys, I made a tutorial for a 100% Non-Destructive Workflow on Blender that allows you to create different versions of an asset and use them for games (Low/High), Subdivisions or even, use it with bevel shader or Remesh it with Blender or Openvdb addon. I hope you will like it ;)…
I tried learning Blender a few months back but for some reason couldn't export an OBJ... I tried the new release and its working. Time to Learn blender I say. think they even add some type of mesh relax. Theres also a guy who is write a BlenderBoost type plugin too.
@f1r3w4rr10r Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I have to work with textures as those nodes would be specific to only Blender. So there isn't any plugin in Blender that can randomly assign a number of textures to a numbe of uv tiles? EDIT: I remember this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAwRxkMKsNM Definitely going to…
Do you guys use Blender's default navigation? Does it offer much advantage? Middle mouse navigation is really difficult to pull off with tablet. I found quite a few posts teaching how to set up left mouse navigation but would that limit what one can do in Blender much?
it will most likely depend on what you are doing, but it wouldnt hurt to get comfortable with max either usually it should not be a problem to do any modelling in blender and import your models to max afterwards, and take it from there if need be but you are lowering your chances on landing a job with only beeing able to…
The right recipe is : set smooth shading to the object, enable Autosmooth (180° or whatever) then sharp edge on the edge you want. Export and voilà. I don't know about workflow in Xnormal. Keep in mind that this feature is quite new to Blender so if you have any trouble, contact mont29 or post in blender forum :)
I know I've asked this before, but can't find the answer now. Again: I'm using Blender to model assets, and export them in OBJ format to texture them in Substance Painter. The problem is that Blender does not export the object names correctly in OBJ format (or any other export format I have tested). This is a problem…
Its easy, and done often by those who need to "fix" blender's keymaps. It's been around for awhile actually. I was able to really get into blender due to one of Demohero's maya keymaps, but then that stopped working with newer versions so I had to make my own. It was easily exported so the keymap is backed up for use with…
Great. Those are some sexy chamfers. Reminds me of that max plugin that unfortunately costs money. By the guy who has the de-subdivide plugin. That would be a cool feature to see in Blender too. What would people like the next 'big thing' to be in Blender? Id personally love to see some kind of crowd simulator.
