@Muzz Thanks man, your feedback is great! yeah the back scales were something i had a lot of trouble with, i still need to practice hand painted textures a lot. thanks again :)
well i guess i just have to get used to the controls and practice alot. I just hoped there was some some magic device that made everything easier ;P well onto the doodles then!
Hey! Synaesthesia I think i've meet you via this forum not too long ago. Your knowledge, experience and practical understanding of modeling programs is always desirable and sought after. Hats off
I am not a fan of NURBS at all but the book suggests to model it using NURBS for practice. I think I could do a decent polygon model of the couch and use SubD's to create the roundness of the couch.
Hello. I am not aware of the current state of Mental Ray, but if you have a roughness slot, you need to invert your gloss and stick in there. Gloss and roughness are practically the same thing, just inverted.
I agree with Axi5. As a beginner you should learn to model these things first before using pre-built meshes. For both practice and experience. It's like the difference between a 'script-kiddie' and a real programmer.
I would recommend the Wacom refurbished store. I always buy my tablets there and they are always practically new quality. Either that or Amazon usually has it a little cheaper than the Wacom site itself.
[WIP]Train station:: I'm currently working on another project (I need to practice Hard-edge surface, composition and lighting). I try to represent tree elements: Abandonned, "frozen, but hot", industrial.
The channels refer to memory channels and they don't really make that much of a difference in practice. The successor to 5820k (haswell E) will likely be skylake E, which I think is supposed to release late next year.
So here is the last piece, I didn't make it in time, but at least i've finished it :P Not 100% happy with a result (i don't like the hair, should practice more with it) but overall, it's pretty good.
