Hello Polycount Community, this is a personal project, that I did in my spare time over the past month. It is a German WWII Tank with Dif, Gloss, Nrm and Spec maps. Modeled in 3ds Max, textured in PS/Quixel Suite and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 2. I hope you enjoy it :) Tips and Critiques are very welcome.
People really like orange socks in your world. ;) I haven't had jack for time this month, I figured it would be fun to see what I could toss together in a couple hours aiming for diffuse and alpha only and extra low spec.
Ok, I've baked the AO and cavity maps. Also popped in some text, serials and a logo onto the normal map. Working on diffusion and spec at the moment. I re-baked the normal map again to try and fix some issues - some fixed, others not...
Awe yeah I know that feel. I remember when our class was first learning normal and spec maps, I made a metal panel where the metal reflected but the paint on it didnt. Then I put in a single point light and my mind was blown
this looks so good. the concept and the modeling is solid. however i think you should play a bit more with the spec and gloss to define the materials better. may be also have more dramatic/contrast lighting ? right now everything feels a bit flat.
I know this is more about normal maps, but I would do more with that spec. At the moment it just looks like a monochrome version of the diffuse map. You can introduce colors and little scratches and things that really make the metal read a lot better.
Awesome, I'm looking forward to more Sketchfab models! Your bust seems a tad monotone. I do see some faint yellow-orange in there when I spin the model around so I'm not sure if that's Sketchfab's lighting or a spec map or what.
Looking pretty cool. Would love to hear specs for it/wires. I would make sure to check that its ok to post this stuff up now seeing as how the game isnt out yet. Hire ups might not like it :O Just a thought :)
Excellent work here. It would be cool to have a bit more emissive spots other than the one on the bottom (thats being picky though and it would really depend on the style you shoot for ;) ). Cant wait to see how the diffuse/spec turns out. :)
Started working on one of the monitors (The one around the middle at the top of the picture.) Same thing here, just a diffuse with no spec or gloss work. Next will prolly be some of the walls so that I can start getting the scene together! Hope you like it! Cheers!
