man i loved the canyon level, it's funny how much better everything looked in motion on the screen - thats how it's supposed to be, work the best at the target medium, great stuff!
the technology requires an LCD screen, a graphics card and a flash memory to store the image. with some technical know how, you could probably build one yourself for about 250$.
You have a great start going. As for composition keep the rule of thirds in mind. Maybe have the house more towards the left or right of the screen with the path leading the eye to the house?
Dude awesome! I wouldn't worry too much about the close up, I imagine they would just ask you to take another screen if it was really that big of an issue. :)
looking really nice. first screen really reminded me of final fantasy 7 in the ice cave where cloud loses it and gives the black materia away in northern crater.
The black shouldnt be a problem for the spec. Spec is additive so you use screen or addition to apply it. any black areas are just ignored. what other layers are you using?
I've been doing more pencil drawing at home for practice. Then the other day at work I erased something on my Cintiq and blew at the screen to remove any eraser shavings....
The help text - white against a light background - is difficult to read. Placing a semi-transparent dark screen between the text and the scene or outlining the text would greatly improve the readability.
This is looking too blocky i think because of lighting i think wait i am posting few more screen shots with side by side comparing with original references.
