Does anyone experience sudden power off while using Reality capture? It usually happens during depth maps calculation by video card. Before it worked just fine but after some update I coudn't finish a single model reconstruction . My videocard GF980ti doesn't even seems overheating .
The GPU part of Vray 4 does have a new core. It based on optix like most other GPU render engines. Its a new renderer from the ground up. If you have enough GPU power i would jump on it. I use it every day and wont go back to CPU.
I find doing the above is a good way to start. I then stitch it back together and try to preserve proportion as best I can - max has really powerful relax tools which help blend the shells together. I try to avoid too many shells as it can have an impact on LODs
@DRP: There is no such thing as asset sheets. Every single asset is one *.png in the sizes of the power of 2. There isn't much magic behind that. We could use everything everywhere due to the atlassing described earlier in this thread. Johannes and Max basically just painted what they needed and brought it into the game. I…
Hi and thank you so much :) The GPU baker is being developed by a third party so we don´t have that much power over when its done, but it will be released when finished! Thank you again, its very nice of you both to take the time to write such kind words!
Agreed. I get very nervous any time something gets proposed like this, by people who don't really seem to be aware of what the consequences are/could be. The language is more often than not overly broad and lends itself to abuse by the powers that be. The best thing we can do is write to our legislators.
I was debating whether or not to update for this, but why not :P. I started working into the wires a bit, really not happy with them so far so this is likely to get ripped out. But it was fun color masking by sub-object in substance as a test run. Really powerful way to get color IDs when none exist.
That's looking pretty nice! Looking again, there's a few other ways that may be easier. This one is a duplicate along curve with a bit of random rotation, pretty straightforward. PaintFX has a lot of power to do this sort of thing, but I've always felt that the amount of options also makes it hard to use without regular…
1. Get out of the house a little bit more often. 2. Continue going to a local gym to build up more muscle. 3. Not get a powerful laptop/PC capable of handling the newest games! 4. ... and have a better schedule. Good luck to everybody else with your goals in this upcoming year!
I wish, I'm mostly just practicing the process of creating the mesh and working within Maya. I know Zbrush is a more powerful tool for sculpting high poly meshes but its on my too do list to learn. Is there anything that particularly stands out? Would it be better if I included the wireframe also?
