Thanks, Danex! I realized after looking through the new materials in the default Unreal 4 library that my material building skills are too basic... I'm gonna focus on rehauling all the materials so they reflect more realistically. As of now, they aren't using any spec maps or gloss. -

My first try on stylized/semi-realistic characteristics was this girl. I wasn't too happy with the hair and i believe i could make bigger eyes for more exaggeration. Hi, good job so far, I think you should work in your human face anatomy so that the face looks more realistic, I suppose you could say they the face is supposed to be off since it's a monster but to me it doesn't seem like that is what you are going for. -

I want this to turn into a serious sport. Imagine putting in F1 budgets into a bot with world class engineers. Maybe in the multi ton class...like a 50ton tank with a spinning disk on top would be pretty rad. Perhaps not realistic though, to spend that kind of money on something that will surely get destroyed. -

This is going down the more realistic serious route, which is cool, but think you need a different colour or material in there on some of the parts. its essentially the same material/colour for all of it. Thats really fine detail on the handle, how big is your map or are you tiling a seperate detail map? -

looks like it's coming along nicely... yeah, gotta get that pony tail in there. what are you using for reference? it'd be cool to see all that stuff, makes constructive criticism a bit easier. i like the high-frequency detail going on in the face, the hairline wrinkles etc. subtle but realistic. -

Would it be possible to get the ref images of your brother up? It still looks a bit long. The shirt definitely looks better, but it currently has those hard-edged stylized folds which look cool but aren't very realistic. Anyways, keep it up it's definitely shaping up nice! -

hey, give cheapy some credit, he want's his gargoyles realistic, right? oh, and bye the way, almighty, yesterday i read EVERY comic the third time through. anyway, the only reason that i suggested that is because of almost everybody here is against just plain textures....
