i think you misunderstand uv channels. in max having 5 material id's just tells the material which textures to use, uv channels allow you to have 2 sets of uvs for the same polygons. what problems are you having with your bake? as long as all your uv's are laid out in the 0-1 space and not overlapping it should be ok - if… -

The actual looping logic differs per game engine. If the program/engine actually supports animated UV's then you should be able to specify the animation sequence to simply loop like any other sequence. If you're doing it via a texture/shader method, so long as your uv layout goes all the way across you can keep it panning… -

I usually attach the neck to the head wherever possible. It really depends on the optimal UV layout and how the geometry is built. There is no "correct" solution really. You want as few seams as possible, but don't do it at the expense of excessive warping or weirdness. Even if you do split it off, I'd say it's best to do… -

practical not, but technical its correct that it is at least possible (because texture Verts and Mesh Verts are seperate arrays). I know that in UV-Layout from headus you can also only stitch sharing edges or vertices which saves a lot of time because in the past I often stitched texture vertices together that don't belong… -

100% agree with other comments about focus and portfolio layout + in your portfolio you should put only your very best piece, get rid of the last drawing sheet with the pink hair girl. If you fell that you are very happy with only 1 image among your things then put this one in home page. leave the others in a gallery… -

Want to be really clever? Do several mix and match variations of trunk and leaves, like a tree pack. Loading that one tree into memory will give you a lot of variation. Hot damn, nice work! Not really much room for crits here. Only thing I can think of is maybe adding a bit of geo to the arm wrappings to make them look more believeable. Other than that... Nice efficient UV layout, good poly distrobution, solid textures, model has character and is memorable. This is pretty much pure win.…
