the problem could be that your mesh is double sided in maya... and it looks fine in maya but actually isn't. make sure your object isn't 2 sided "Backface culling" is turned on... The objects shouldn't be flippied in zbrush when they come in.
Well my problem is that the wall is one object and the floor and glass are another object. How do I separate the pipes so I can do a single unwrap for them? Oh and yes I'm using 3ds max.
Don't know if this'll help, but you could try rigging the wings to bones (each wing to one bone) and then using a lookat controller on the bone. Use a dummy object that's traveling down the path as the lookat object. Just a thought.
When you detach faces there's a dialogue box that pops up with the option "Detach to Element", check this and you won't have to reattach them. It detaches the faces, but keeps them in the object instead of making a new object out of them.
Hey man, just a few thoughts: I was surprised you started modeling on a perspective image. Seems pretty useless if it's not an ortho. I would just not create an image plane at all, and mess around for a few minutes with primitives/superbasic modeling to get the proportions right. It's important to train your eye and sense…
I'm planing on using one single generic shader for all the objects with the same material throughout the whole scene. I don't think this way i will be able to hide the seams the same way i could while authoring a unique texture for each object...
Transformations can be applied to both groups and their objects. Check to ensure all transformations are set to 0 in Marmoset Toolbag. Because transformation information is stored with the object reference (afaik) , reimporting will not correct the problem, either try deleting everything and the reimporting it, or fixing…
the 3ds hotkey editor has some huge flaws imo (maya's as well). in max, the delete that you want to be mapping is called "Delete Objects." it deletes what you have selected. it does not delete the Object regardless of subobject selection, which is the intuitive reading.
well what i mean is that when i zoom with the pen I lose the lock to the object after i stop zooming, and if i want to lock on to something again i have to press z again which will take me back close to the object
You can type Bip* then Enter in the search field to get all the Biped Objects. Since you have a mix of bone and Biped objects you can also Alt + Click on the Bone icon to show only bones. Type * then Enter to select all.
