Well, I don't need it per say but I want to learn it, since so many people use it its not like knowing another tool will ever cost me a job in the future. I will check out that book though, thank you.
Damn dude... Glad to see you've healed up nicely! I can't imagine how horrible that must have been for you! But happy to hear your wife and furry critters got out fine at the time, and of course congrats on the future newborn!
While the idea sounds fun on paper, it seems very unnecessary. I'd much prefer that if you have a question - regardless of how trivial you think the solution maybe - that its asked on the boards somewhere. This way a record of it is made for others to reference in the future.
Phil: Sorry, but local reflections are the only option at this time. Christoph: We're looking into some solutions for handling this better in the future, we would like to keep everything realtime with no pre-baking though so IBL probes are probably not the direction we will take.
Oh wow - the level of polish on this is AMAZING. The lighting/ shaders and FX really help to pull all this together into a really high quality package. We're seriously getting close to the levels of an animated feature film with titles like this. The future is here now boys!
Also what is your budget? What software are you mostly using? How long do you want it to last? Will you be looking to upgrade anything in the future (ram, gpu, and storage are easy upgrades). How much storage do you need?
Ton also just announced that, in the future, he plans on making importing and exporting to external engines much easier. Quote: Full article here. Edit: Just realized this was already posted in the other Blender thread. I'm not copying guys I promise! :)
Allright! I have something here) I decide to grab some assets from infinity blade free pack and put it in my scene to have some kind of represent what can be in there and off course I will make my own in future
Yeah I agree, it's kinda of a bitter sweet victory since so much is faked.. But I'm happy with the result none the less. This project also resulted in alot of experience in making this kind of models and how I should handle texture work in the future.
Thanks a lot for the critiques and suggestions Eliteabix ^^ I'm really in need of good advices like that! In the meantime I tried once again, this time with wood: I'll be sure to watch other people work and start gathering some references for future practice :D
