Thank you Justin, so 970 is a 3.5GB only. And maybe when Substance Painter tries to access the slower .5GB, major slowdown happens ! R9 390 would be my first choice, but previously I used an AMD 7970 and I was having some issue in Maya with the Crimson Drivers. But the 8GB vram would be nice, will wait for some more posts… -

i wouldn't go for a 775 system nowdays, amd phenom 2 are a bit cheaper and generally faster than any core 2 duo/quad on the market nowday's, not to mention 775 have all the nail well planted on the coffin (intel core i5 coming around september or so, called i5 because they are stripped version of the more expensive corei7… -
