He's probably referring to the fact that Maya and 3ds Max, for instance, use completely different tangent basis' for rendering normal maps(I'm not talking about the swizzle/handness here) this means that if you bake a normal map in Maya, and try to render it in Max, you're going to get bad smoothing errors from the… -

Autodesk Maya LT 2019 out now! What's new though?
I just got an email from Autodesk that Maya LT 2019 is out now. I checked online for new features and didn't find any new info about it (not even on the Autodesk website, it's still 2018 stuff). Does anybody know what's new? I hope the improved the auto-rig tool and possibly added python support for add-ons such as ZBrush. -

I highly doubt a bunch of their software will get a huge UI overhaul with Scaleform. Autodesk wants a monopoly. They want to control a ton of middleware for games, the same way they control a ton of middleware for movies. Autodesk already owns other game-related middleware (like Beast and Kynapse), and that hasn't trickled…
