Thanks for replies. Many of those pretty polished concepts took me way too much time to finish so i also wanted to show something quick. but maybe that's not the way to go after all. i assume that those line-art characters is what stands out. do you think that with added shade their designs would be ok? or do you think…
Thanks Dethling! Gotta say the P90 is one of my favorite sub machine gun, especially how you reload the magazine on top of the weapon, personally I think is a really cool design. When I'm designing weapons, I've always look at modern weapons first and think about, "how can I make this look more sci-fi". For this railgun…
I've only got time for a quick post, so apologies if it comes across as being high and mighty, but one thing that bothers me is that you shade with black and white, and it makes things look, well... bad. You'd do your paint-skills far more justice if you were to put some more thought into your colours. Since I'm being…
Not bad at all for a first attempt! There are a couple things that stand out, however. 18k is definitely too high for this model, but you said you'd like that to be lower, so at least you are aware of it. By looking at your wireframe, it shouldn't be too hard at all to bring that total down. Also, using four 2048's is…

sometimes to fix small issues with dilation, editing the image in photoshop or similar can be easy way to go. You can just duplicate the base layer and add a blur to the lower layer or use a brush to manually paint in color to the problem spots. have not watched this tutorial but looks like it covers what i am talking…

It's all about the grid. You'll create a modular kit with pieces that have one of these properties: 1) Pieces that begin and end on major grid lines. 2) Pieces that begin on a major grid line but end at some arbitrary point to which you can use for vertex snapping instead of grid snapping. 3) Pieces that neither begin or…
