Clay tubes to bulk up forms and standard + smooth per's way to refine and add tight details is how i sculpt, it's a pretty natural way to work. Normals look sweet, diffuse and, naturally, spec, needs work. Break up those highlights as much as possible. -

Cool progress! I would say the background is a bit to dark and saturated - when squinting, parts of the character merge with the background. Maybe you can even add some ground shadows? What textures did you end up using? Is it diffuse only? Much success finishing it 🚀 -

@Blendermonkey Usually we just have a single UV set for diffuse, normal, roughness metallic etc. I have only used 2nd uv set for light maps or for dirt and grunge shaders in engine. I think the best option will be to only have a single UV set. -

where do you bake these? as a first measure besides that i would start straightening UV islands, straight pixels just cause less artifacts in general. also trying to paint over seams of a tangentspace normalmap in diffuse mode is generally not a good idea. if you want to paint over seams of a normalmap, use a worldspace… -

And in the Steam workshop for CS:GO, you cannot unwrap it, (it's already unwrapped) or change anything on the model what so ever. you can only just make a new diffuse (color) texture and a normal map (sometimes). but you can't change anything on the lowpoly model given -

That would actually be extremely awesome. Would let people take a real good look at the model. if someone could whip up a default "polycount model viewer" of sorts, that let you switch between wireframe mode, diffuse only, normal only, spec etc. -

Re: Limited number of textures on a landscape compnent?
6 different diffuse textures with 6 of it's specs and 6 normals 18 textures total for the entire material? But there isn't an error in the material editor. Should that be ok? It's like a component can only have 3-4 textures painted per square anymore than that will crash.
