you are thinking slideknit I asume? http://cghub.com/scripts/view/79/ theres an example of its use here: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1115091&postcount=156
Curious, what kind of cubemap did need to convert? I have a Photoshop script somewhere that I wrote, which converts horizontal cross cube map faces into individual files.
use retopology if maya 2014 [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKkOfD_KCpU"]Maya 2014 New Modeling Tools - CGMeetup.net - YouTube[/ame] or http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/script/froretopo
CB has some tools (scripts + integration into 3ps shader) working for this, i think he's doing some work now to get that + the custom tangent space stuff packaged up.
Ok, finally got some spare time. Will make a sample UPK w/mesh and animations... and put all scripts needed. Need to get some coffee in my system first...
Are you kidding me? MoPKnit for Maya and Slideknit for 3dsmax. (The MoPKnit link has more info on both, the slideknit link is straight link to the actual script which can be hard to find)
Search for "super smart create" script here, it does exactly what you want and more. As far as I know, there's no easy way to create a shortcut for bridge (not sure for latest versions).
You can import obj using free “importObj” script. Download link and link to the forum thread on how to use, install, troubleshoot, etc. here > http://moi.maxsm.net/item/18
Not sure if its possible (havent taken a look) but a photoshop script where you take the layer which is uniquely named and move it to the top of the stack and do whatever mask is needed etc.
Zbrush has new Zremesher with 4r7, so that could be something you find useful. Maya should be a decent enough tool for retopology, with the aid of some third party scripts and plugins.
