Bellsey, I think speed sometimes is even more important than quality. Today game industry is driven by the cash of huge corporations. For them most important thing is profit. They want to spend as small amount of time on project as they possibly can (time = money). There are lots of titles that lack final polish because…
Have you ever actually seen a real life terrain or cliff way that tiles nicely? No never, thats now how nature is. What makes a terrain/rock walls look real is making them look unqiue and removing that generic tiling look. If you were to make rock wall chunks out of a ton of square pieces you would notice the tiling. Again…
remove the character. it stands out far too much and is not as well done as the other pieces. you are only as good as your weakest piece in your folio, and this is the weakest link. yes you did it for DW, and yes it was the lowpoly mmo pre-dom war comp, but it shadows the quality of the rest of your work and that is…
Thanks for all the feedback and input! @Vovosunt & Todestomate: I initially had a version in which wisp would fall from the sky similarly to the spirits but I then scrapped it in favour of the current version which has one big advantage: you can immediately identify Wisp's location. As the spawn effect is not really an…
Silkypix doesn't have any lens correction yet. When Lightroom supports the x100, it will remove it, but it's not "quite a bit" it's already been measured by a few websites using grid charts and all the pixel peeper measurements, and it's very slight for a wide angle lens. Lightroom's lens correction features are great. It…
I would pay around 40-50$ for something like this if it was largely upgraded. I support everyone else's suggestions so far. Here's some I don't think have been mentioned. Edit: Some of them have and I was just not reading closely enough, oh well. Automatic alpha channel generation When I save screenshots from marmoset I'm…
Vig: Yeah, I've had second thoughts about the header image, too. I wanted "sinistergfx" to be strongly associated with my real name for recognition. I'll give it some more thought. I'm not going to seperate out the portfolio. If I am trying to get a job; I'll just pull a switcheroo and have the portfolio be the main page…
Very confusing, lots of repetition Most of the work from the demo reel isn't in the portfolio. The two knights aren't bad, but they cancel out the base male's value as a portfolio piece. The open face knight face is WAY too clean (rough, dark armor with strong spec vs. matte, clean boy face) Like two different artists made…
thanks @Neox hardening the edges reduced the artifact just enough so that you cant see it unless you get really close and view it from an angle. should I stop here or try to remove it entirely Regular view Viewed from a specific angle Edit: Fixed it completely by playing around with the shading and hardening more edges.…
I suppose you could select edges by UV seams and set them to hard which should remove some mayor shading gradients. Then check if the result is improved when baking anew.
