After looking at that, I feel the consoles have sort of reached a saturation point. I think the 360 & PS3 could go for another 5 years beyond 2012. There just seems like so much breathing room available yet to push these systems as new dev tools are created. Just adding more detail is just going to make the budgets larger… -

devkits for the newest system are surely more expensive than for a system that has been on the market for a while, so how do you compare? generally it seems, people were paying like 35k pounds per devkit even in the SNES heydays so i guess the prices for the kits have come down over the years, all in all. btw. lot's of PS3… -
