Assuming you're talking about Unreal - Same principle applies, but you'd multiply your vert color with a new texture map that has that kind of noise pattern. You may need to pass the result through a power node to increase contrast.

I don't think he's talking about the pixellation of the details, I think he's talking about the long greyish streaks along the surface? Not sure though.

There's no sense for looking what's cool or what isn't. Just be natural and talk. It is hard to communicate if you have to play your role instead of simply talk to ppl :)
