Ferg - You are a wizard. benji - Post! If you don't have one, I suggest a Digital Sketchbook thread here in PC so when you pimp out in this thread, people can write C&C in your sketchbook. "when building environments with modularity in mind, is it generally better to build, then split into components, or to model…
Well I got about all the effects I want in the scene now all setup in kismet. All I need to do is build a modular set of buildings and then take unreals modularity tools for a test drive and layout that bigo city in the background. Then I can actually do a lighting + lightmass pass on this bad boy since right now its all…
small bottom one's rather simple but i'll be adding some colour and brush strokes to it soon enough. Can't say it enough but <3 <3 <3 minotaur's tutorials. can't get viewport shaders to work, and i can't be bothered (tired) to get these textures & modular models into source.
I thought I would give making a modular building a shot. This is the result. It excists out of 1024x1024 texture maps. I'm not too happy with the rooftop so I think I might redo it completely. There is also some reflection in some of the windows. I'm saying so because it's usually hard to see in a screenshot.
Last time I'm gonna post this! Made the windows more modular, so you can adjust them to break up repetitiveness. You also have the choice between curtains drawn or curtains open. I'm too kind! Next time I post a shot, it's going to have plenty more props in it :)
A smidge more progress on this guy. Got the ceiling caps done and re-mapped a lot of the lumber so it tiles better than it did before. I need to make some modular window/doors that I can slap on the exteriors of these pieces, and I'm considering adding some more ornate woodwork to the "plaster" areas on the walls before I…
@Scott, Pedro, Dan, Nielson, and polygunz! Nice work guys! Really diggin the stuff :) Figured I would drop by and show you guys what I just finished up recently. ...a modular dugeon ;) You can check out the breakdown for all the pieces over here. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1337559#post1337559 And if…
Mental Radiation! That is awesome. It would fit right in my scene that I am currently working on, which is an early 1900s-esque building/street. Here it is, with updated textures. This building is made from 2 1024x1024 maps and is modular in its construction. Going to add loads of props to make it look a little less flat…
Chugging through the texturing bits and making sure all of the color grading matches with the rest of the building. It's only 50% of the building so far, and I'm slowly working through the rest of the modular bits. It's a bit dry right now and the windows have yet to be detailed, and a lot of other little deco and detail…
First application of stuff i learnt here: modular generic Alien swarm scifi environments! (thread soon™) simple test to check for seams and export/import process from hammer to max to hammer. Besides some minor alien-blood splatter decal issues, i'm content with this so far. No visible seams, but i did forget to tile the…
