Any way to quickly invert a grayscale image (roughness image) in the Shader Editor? There is an invert node, but it seems to output color. Anyhow, there seems to be something awry here (with my simple shader setup). It doesn't work if I just invert the roughness in Photoshop. If I plug the metallic map into the shader, the…
@pior https://meshlogic.github.io/posts/blender/addons/extra-image-list/ I made a quick update to 2.8, didn't fully tested it, so something may not work
If PyQt can be used from within Blender without too much trouble, that's probably the best way to get a custom object picker. The only con is that it's a child window that can't be embedded in the interface (because it uses another gui library). Giving the PyQt window a background image and using a custom layout to place…
Here's another question. Is there any way to access the source path that is grayed out and "almost-shown-but-not-quite" in the UV editor ? (... or similarly, from the relevant image node, or the image node properties tab). I quite like how Blender allows to pack/embed textures within the .Blend while still allowing for…
@pior I can't attest to how well it works since I don't use it, but there's the command Image > Save All Images on the UV / Image editor header. To add it to custom menus, the operator name is "bpy.ops.image.save_dirty". This course here can help regarding advanced character animation using Blender:…
@Prime8 I meant that in case you have something like this: http://www.paversearch.com/images/portfolio/big/menu_pavingstone04.jpg Of course you dont need it for a simple grid
Dearest Bastien, this is entirely unrelated to the file browser, but I've noticed lately that images take a rather long time to load in Blender compared to other programs. Loading an 8192x4096 .hdr panorama takes twenty seconds on my machine, even if the file has been cached in memory, while loading the same image into…
The only way I think you can do this in Blender is using a plane, with your ref image as a texture. It works correctly to me. Are you remembering to use the 0 of numpad keyboard?
@Prime8 ah nice! didnt know about the hover copy, pretty nice! guess the only 'advantage' of an addon operator is that you don't need to hover over the path, as it copies the path of the current image.
Hi Linko, I have been looking into this as well recently after bookmarking the stack exchange link and this Blendswap resource to implement as another bake mode in TexTools. I am close to finishing the scripted loop where I can bake the curvature map in 1 click. My process: * Create a blend file with each scene containing…
