I'd stick to the polys you have Swizzle. During game no one will notice and if it's aways away the glow will take care of the sharper edges I think. More work on my forklift. 3 skins now, modelling is done, tex has a little to go. Smoothing groups done, etc..
Damn alex, you are prob one of my fav environment artists out there buddy! Awesome style, I love how the tree bark reads, would love to see some mroe breakdown shots, even how you have setup your materials etc. Looks fun :)
I am currently trying to get head anatomy memorized etc. this is my first real attempt at trying to get a good head done heres what I have so far: http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/9121/head14.jpg http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/4598/head15.jpg
commander_keen: that looks cool and useful! been working on this for 2 days now and my brain is starting to hurt. when i finish the high poly i'll make a new thread. most of the big detail is in. need to add in all the rivets, screws, etc. as well as do the other side which isn't hard

Small update on the lighting. Capt. Crabcore pointed out some reference shots of tunnels where a lot of their lighting was hitting the bottom/road area and the ceilings were really just bounce lighting, so I went for that. I'll be moving on to the final accent props (vents, wood skid, etc) before I come back to the…
@Ferg - I love your stuff man, really great style and personality to it. @Harry - I'm not sure what the purpose of the mesh is for(sculpting, animation, etc...), I don't think there is too big of a problem with the forehead loop. I think though you should have another loop going from his upper nosrils to around his mouth.

Your drawing could do with alot of improvement, starting with drawing closer to life and reference. That doesnt mean it has to be lifelike, but you should pay…
Maks: Looks like you might be jumping the gun on mormal mapping before the sculpt is done. Also, use a better image host (imageshack/photobucket/etc.), every one of the pics I clicked on threw up a giant floating ad that made it so I couldn't see your work till I clicked on it and got more popup windows.
Rens : I do that when i quickly concept stuff, just throw ideas on a sphere or a basemesh and add dirty stuff all over the place, I found out that duplicating the basemesh and sculpting on it using subtools makes it easier to try out different things, mix them together, etc. it's so easy to then retopo and project the…
