Im not sure if im following ya haha. Still confused :( Is this what you mean? Also, this turbosmooths like complete shit. Not getting good results no matter where I add supporting geo :poly118: there's literally over 50 people on polycount that have made a glock...you guys got any pointers??
Hi guys, Im new to polycount and hard surface modelling. Im having this weird streak when I smooth my model, any suggestions on what im doing wrong?? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/189/streak.png/ wireframe http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/510/streak2.png/
Agreed. Also a reminder that information linked in this thread's Opening Post, Page 1, lists a huge library of content relevant too Subdivision Surface Modelling, as follows: Subdivision Surface Modeling on the Polycount Wiki Shared: My Technical Talk content by Perna How u model dem shapes? aaww all i've learnt from polycount was wroooong :poly144: You're destroying ma repairs Quili, can't u just use floating geometry ? Keep the ball intact, then just put the square shape above, moving points around so it matches the ball curvature ? Wesley, what is the final shape you want ?
Hey polycounters, It is my first post here. I was wondering if anyone of you could help me out. I am modeling a boot. Shape looks almost fine except there is one redundant triangle. It stays slightly revealed when I add turbosmooth modifier. Worst-case scenario would be as it is. Any advice is welcome.
Not trying to advertise or anything, but I made a tutorial on how to make this type of pattern, and how to make it tile correctly. https://gumroad.com/l/GZCvz (Use the promo code "polycount" to get 100% off. 5 uses only!) Edit:// 2 uses left. I really hope Dklang is one of them, if not, PM me. :)
@metalliandy & @Bek MATES! tnx for the help! now i Have a much clear idea about the aproach fo finer details like this in other projects :)! Please do you know if I can find some good tutorials abouth Hardsurface modeling here in Polycount forums? or any other place in the internet?! I need to learn this stuff...
Just a small update, so maybe spare some extra time for someone who likes to look into it: the pinching and overall mesh seems to be way better now, but still got some pinching, it's not that bad, but i would like to know if something could be done about it.. overall it helped me to keep the polycount high from the get go
Your cylinder, needs to be able to keep it's shape. So start off by simply blocking out the shape of your modell. With as low polycount as possible. Important by spherical object or cylindrical when making cuts on the curved part.. is that the edges often needs to have equal distance between them, if you want to skip doing…
Hi polycounters :) I am struggling with the topology of corners on my hardsurface jet model with subd modifier having some unwanted bumpiness on the model. Jet is supposed to have partially organic look, but with few of the hard edges here and there. Similar feel to how F35 lightning have it. Question is: How to achieve…
