Updated my techniques and tutorials .zip. There are 2 parts to avoid people getting duplicates (should be 87 items total). Again, for additional info, I added the link to the page the image is from in the comments of the image so it may make more sense in context of the rest of the thread. Some of the techniques might not…
Hello everybody! So I was trying to model this eleven tooth drive sprocket and I've tried a couple approaches. The first one was to try and start from the outer circle for which I made a cylinder with 33 subdivisions since it matched the step of the teeth (1 face = 1 tooth, 2 faces = distance between them). My intention…
Not sure if this is the right topic for this, but I am new here and not sure where to ask about this. Started modeling objects for games in my free time many years ago, when normal maps for games was new (2004) and I never understood the high poly to low poly workflow. I would approach modeling like this: (model in this…
If you dont want to start from scratch you could use the first 2 steps of what frankpolygon suggest and conform your points to that form either manually or with something like shrink wrap or any other tool that snap verts to surface this way you dont have to match edge loop just need the proper size form .Red part is part…
Hi, I'm trying to recreate the quad sphere with flat sides (all the way back from pg. 20 of this thread, lol), but I can't seem to scale the secondary cube in order to avoid tris. For the quad sphere, I'm using a 4x4x4 cube with Spherify > Turbosmooth (1 iteration) > Spherify applied, which I believe is as round a sphere…
Hey Gir, a Student from GA, berlin here. I'll try to explain my workflow. (3Ds max) I started off with a Box. Gave it A TS and Spherified it. Made a spline Circle (with 8 sides). Cut in the new edges on my mesh. During the entire time i only worked on 1/4 of the modell cause it's pretty symmetrical . For the smaller holes,…
Continuing on with my B-2 model in Blender... I'm wondering how to go about another approach for sectioning off the wingtips. In the following image, I have an edge going from 1 to 2, but what if I wanted to have the edge continue on until it reaches the hypothetical vertex at 3 where the edge would follow on to meet the…
heeere's comes Wizi lets make it easy, the big cylinder under is 18 sides and the small one is 14 sides =). I was not quite sure what you wanted to achieve so i did 3 diff. Models. see if it helps From Left to right. 1. I use primitives to align the 2 cylinders edges to eachother. The big one is 18 sides and the smaller…
One tip I can give you to save time. Block out the big shapes, Block them out without using Subd. Just to make sure that all the pieces you need are there. So, you start with only 2 parts that are blocked out, 1. Headband is one piece and earcups with drivers are one piece. (So two pieces) 2. Then you iterate further on…
No one really would want to do that sort of thing manually tbh. Projects could require you to make many dozens of objects, and manually solving even topology could be a very pointlessly tedious step that steals time away from creative tasks for not much benefit. Typically, some automatic topolgy solving workflow would be…
