hey guys! just dropped by to announce you all that Lowpoly Workshop Modeling Contest VI has started. theme: buildings; triangle budget: 1000; 1Texture 1024x1024px(Alpha included) If you're interested and want more details, join us on LPW. Cheers!
Maks: Looking at the larger pic I think you could use less tris on magazine, still very good JFletcher: I bow down to your skills Updated one of my model's texture to include highlights and such, as well as modelling and texturing another character :)
Did a "Milmo/Windwaker styled hero" Its about 2114 tris (sword and clothes included), so not sure how well it fits here. It uses a 1024 px diffuse with alpha and is fully rigged. Concept - http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1635925&postcount=119
So now i'v done a new Lowpoly asset. i tried to include all the critics from my last asset. and it isnt realy lowpoly with 616Tris for a regular woodn box but i thought it would give that box a little more "personality" thanks for some crits. Peace,
Cool Mustang Harmalarm, in fact everything here is so good! Here's an attempt at a low poly toilet, weighing in at 144 tris, and a 32x32 texture (my smallest one yet) Modeled in blender in an hour and a half (including distractions). Let me know what you think!
Hey that's an idea! I'll give it a shot. One of the issues I'm finding is that putting the seams to the edge of the texture seems to always include one pixel past it. Should I design my textures with one extra pixel of margin to compensate? Also I'm working in blender if that changes anything.
Next model for my little project. Miamia State Police Department Riot Knight. Figured since the Mayor is like the king, the police force should be vaguely euro-style knights and paladins and such. Just the color test at the moment, texture is WIP. 926 tris including his sword and shield.
Der it's even better than I thought. the "~1k limit" I believe usually just applies to the character themselves, not including the props, so you're way under limit. That rifle def can be adjusted though, I see a lot of tris you could easily get rid of
Spar, Just 'float' the spikes. ie: just place pyramids (with no bottom) onto the back. That'll cut a lot of polys out of the mesh. Same with the tongue, it doesn't have to all be one piece. generally legs would animate and deform more so those might be best included in the main 'hull'.
Hi Parellel, I really appreciate the critique. I will work on a different material for the bag to see if I can make it more apparent as to what it is. As far as the material goes for the bin I based the bin off of a real trash can I found at a park I have included one of the reference photos.
