Yes, you have to have a WIP thread here. And yes, it should be linked to from your Workshop submission page. Look for the Greentooth button on the right after you got your Workshop entry made. It's specifically for us and this purpose. If you want to watermark the textures you are displaying publicly, you are welcome to.…
No, unfortunately. :( The purpose of the WIPs is to solicit periodic feedback but perhaps more importantly to show your creative process. If you post your process images after you have finished your skin, that defeats both purposes. At that point the images could be faked, not really showing your actual working process.…
Some questions: 1. What does 70-80' sci-fi mean? Do I need to use popular (or not) shows of that time period? 2. What about copyright? For ex: if I use art style from Start Trek or similar? 3. WIP thread: Do I need to update it while I work, or It's ok to create this thread after I finish and upload "milestone" screenshots?
And I completely agree, I've been holding wips of my skins from the start. My question is, did Valve enforce these rules in the other major competitions when chosing the winners? (KF2, Dota 2 and TF)? The reason why I am asking this is, because as we all know Valve isen't really a company that communicates with the…
Nothing has to be posted here, Just post your skin in the workshop with the "PC-CSGO | YourSkinName" name tag, after you have done that copy the link of your polycount wip thread into the description of your skin. Valve will most likely sort the skins on the workshop based on the "PC-CSGO | YourSkinName" name tag, and…
Is it compulsory to have a WIP thread of our skin here in Polycount and should it be compulsorily linked in the Steam Workshop submission's description? Or should I create one thread featuring my skin and take that link to the Workshop submission? Also, is it ok to add watermark to the texture sheet image (not raw targa…
I have a question, I was gone out of country all month and i cracked down all yesterday to get my skin in and only did one small progress. I put my sketches in as well, but does that make me disqualified? I am not saying anything against the rules (I am glad they are that way) and I wish I could have gotten a lot of…
I apologize in advance, but this is regarding " Final Submissions" I know a lot of people have asked about this already, and I have already read all the rules and such, my question is that it says; A thread will be created by a moderator, near to the end of the competition. This will be announced in a Sticky at the top of…
1: Themes relating to the 70's and 80's Sci Fi scene, so something like a glowing line skin making reference to tron. 2: Use similar art styles, really anything, but don't directly copy, and only use items that you created in the final version. The competition also mentions something about not making references: "While it…
Work In Progress (WIP) An artist uploads images and text periodically as they work on a new piece of art. They ask viewers for critique: commentary on what is working well versus what needs improvement. The artist uses this feedback to improve their artwork, and post the next in-progress image. This is repeated until the…
